See Me by Hailey Rodgers

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5/5

See Me by Hailey Rodgers is a book about finding your own voice amongst the different voices you’ve used. It is about peeling off the mask you’ve put on and finding who you really are. The author Hailey Rodgers will introduce you to different inspiring women which will influence you, teach you and guide you in your self redemption journey.

To start with, there was this certain question on the book which I quoted, “Why can’t we make one day, today?” and I sure did ask that to myself too, “Why can’t I?” Then, I realized. Some people’s one day takes a longer process. We have different goals, different voices, different purposes and we go on different paces. Such as the influencers mentioned in the book, they had different timelines and so are we. We will be successful in our own time. But of course, success will come last after you’ve embraced every little thing about you and when you’ve learned to play the role of being who you truly are—no masks and no pretending to be someone else, just purely you. The formula to success will always be happiness and being who you are. Without the other, you won’t feel the satisfaction and the true definition of success.

Moreover, I really liked the book as I have always been a sucker for self discovery books like this one and this book is just one of my very few favorites. I was able to relate a lot to the contents. It is also the first non-fiction book I’ve ever read so, when the author—Hailey Rodgers sent me a dm on instagram I was both excited d hesitant but, I immediately replied as soon as I saw her reach out. I admit, I wasn’t expecting much about the book because 1) it is the author’s debut book and 2) I had always been the fiction type of a reader so I preferred fictions over non-fictions but, as soon as I read the book I couldn’t seem to find myself putting it down. I never thought non-fiction could be this good! It really exceeded my expectations.

Furthermore, the book did not only lead me towards my authentic self—and hinted me as to who this Hailey Rodgers was but, it also made me realize that there were still a lot of mystery about myself that (1) I truly didn’t know about and (2) I purposely chose to ignore.

If you somehow lost yourself in the process of doing something or that you’ve abandoned it for something and you want o redeem yourself back, I would personally like to recommend this book for you. It may not be able to make you who you really are but, it will take you halfway there and guide you throughout your self-redemption voyage.

I’ve finished reading the book but I’m pretty sure I’ll find myself reading it again sometime in the near future for my continuous voyage towards my self discovery. After all, life’s a continuous journey of discovering who we truly are and the worst experiences are merely challenges on the way that are either bound to strengthen or break us. Life’s full of choices and you don’t always have to make the best choices cause sometimes, the worst choices teaches you the best lessons. Embrace it cause that is what makes you, you.
